I highly recommend getting the unflavored one. I first ordered the vanilla roast and was disappointed because it did not taste or smell nothing similar to coffee but I still like the dark taste of it.... because I miss drinking coffee.
I'm using the Ayurvedic roast mixed with my regular dark roast coffee (half of each)so I still get a rich coffee flavor. The best part of the Ayurvedic Roast is the addition of the healing herbs. I have so much more energy and clarity without having to take the herbs in pill form. The flavor is smooth but I would love a choice of no vanilla. I used to own a coffee house, became a coffee snob and always drank my coffee without any flavors added. Just black. I also became allergic to coffee because I drank so much and I hope to gradually ease off the coffee altogether and stick with this blend.
I make mine in a coffee press and just add equal parts of coffee and the Ayurdedic blend. It's a great gift of taste and energy. Thank you!

For someone who's caffeine intolerant, I tried to brew the weakest decaf I could, but still suffered sleepless nights. My wife found out there were coffee alternatives out there.
